My girlfriend stayed up with me from 3:00 to 6:30, and we went to bed together for this nap. The difference is that she is still in bed now, whereas I am just wishing I was still in bed!

I fell asleep quickly as usual but for some reason I woke up after 10 minutes and thought I had overslept. I looked that the clock and it said 15 minutes left so I went back to sleep.

I feel quite tired.

Today for the first time I took the full 3:30 hours for my core sleep. I woke up feeling tired as usual, but after about half an hour the tiredness faded and this has been the easiest morning yet.

Last night I wanted to give up - I was sick of feeling tired all of the time. My girlfriend persuaded me not to, and agreed to get up with me for this period which has been great. It's great to have someone else to talk to and to not have to worry too much about making noise.

I laid down and dozed off, and what seemed like a few seconds later woke up but kept my eyes closed. A few seconds later the alarm went off.

I don't feel particularly refreshed but I was really tired today. I think I have accumulated some sleep debt yesterday.

I was feeling a little sleepy this morning, and in the end we went roller blading from 10:30 - 12:00. When I got in I was starving so I ate a pice of Spanish cured ham, and then went for my nap.

I was worried that I wouldn't sleep so soon after doing exercise but I passed out straight away and had a nice nap. I still feel tired afterwards but I'm used to that by now...

I crept into my girlfriends bed and was out like a light. This is normally one of my favourite naps as I fall asleep so easily for it. I wish they were all this easy!

Okay so I moved my core back a bit today. To be honest I thought I was going to have to abort this experiment but I guess I'm still here!

Last night I had my pet rat out (who is very old and has 2 tumors growing on her) and at about 10:00pm she started to get weird. I think she couldn't breathe because of the cancers pressing on her lungs. In the end I sat with her for a while because she seriously looked like she wouldn't survive and I couldn't just dump her back in her cage to die.

At about 23:30 which was 15 minutes after my bed time, I discussed with my girlfriend what I should do. In the end, I slept downstairs on the sofa with my pet rat on my chest while she watched Red Dwarf DVDs and watched me to make sure I didn't roll on her or anything.

At about 2:00am I woke up and my rat seemed to have much improved so I put her back in the cage, and my girlfriend went up to bed. I stayed on the sofa and had another 1.5 hours of actually pretty good sleep.

I woke up easily for my alarm but now I feel very drowsy. I'm not sure of the overall quality of my sleep last night, but at least I can still continue with this!

I'm not 100% sure whether I slept or not for this one. I was quite drowsy before the nap, and I definitely felt the sensations of falling asleep a few times, but I seemed to snap out of it each time. I'm not sure whether I snapped out of it before falling asleep or a while after.

It felt a lot quicker than 25 minutes though so I guess I did sleep a bit. I feel pretty good now but still a bit tired.

Today is the first day of this sleep pattern where I haven't been at work, and I was worried that I wouldn't sleep, until I laid down in my bed and closed my eyes. Within seconds I was doing the thing where I would start to drift off and then awaken again, and I knew I would be able to sleep.

I had a pretty good nap. I felt very sleepy all morning, and now I feel somewhat refreshed. I still haven't had a nap which made me feel completely awake, but I feel like I'm headed in the right direction.

I slept extremely well for this nap, and woke up feeling pretty refreshed.

This morning after my core was quite challenging. I didn't feel bad, but I was very sleepy all morning, right up to about half an hour before this nap.

I decided to not bother with my sleep mask and ipod, and instead cuddled up to my girlfriend. I added 3 minutes to the nap timer to allow for falling asleep taking a bit longer, but to be honest I don't think it did.

This is the first time that I haven't felt extremely groggy after the core sleep. I'm not sure if this because the core was longer, or just because I am getting used to this sleep pattern.

I wasn't particularly tired before this nap, so I read for 15 minutes beforehand and drunk peppermint tea. When it was nap time I laid down as usual, and noticed the effects of falling asleep.

The white noise from my ipod would fade out and music would start, and then I would awaken again. I would see glimpses of faces and scenes. Eventually I felt my eyes roll back and my senses disconnect and drifted of into a restful sleep.

I awoke to see my girlfriend back from work and felt somewhat refreshed. I still have a slight feeling of pressure in my skull but I feel good.

I really thought I wouldn't sleep for this one! When I got to work I was really tired, but someone opened the window and the breeze perked me right up and by lunch time I felt very alert.

I drifted for the first half of the nap, and woke up after 10 minutes and just had to look at the clock. It said 15 minutes remaining so I went back to sleep and fell asleep straight away.

When I woke up I felt the best I have felt after any nap so far.

This morning I didn't sleep as well as I usually do in my morning naps. I went to bed at 6:35, and at 6:45 my ipod beeped reminding me to go to sleep in 15 minutes - whoops! I need to change my reminder now that I've moved this nap.

I was drifting in and out of sleep for the first part, but I definitely got to sleep within 10 minutes because the beep woke me up. I went straight back to sleep though, and now I feel ok. I feel as tired as I normally would after getting up early on Monday morning.

I added 5 minutes to the beginning of my core nap to see how I would feel - I think it might be a small improvement. I normally have an intense feeling that I have interrupted my sleep, but this time I feel a little less groggy and I think I was dreaming when I woke up.

I still feel extremely tired and would love to go back to sleep.

I'm not really sure what happened on this nap. I'm pretty sure I was conscious for most of it, although I definitely drifted off momentarily a few times.

I was counting down from 300 in 3s and I got to 0 fairly quickly with no mistakes. I started again at 300 and made a lot more mistakes. I also noticed that I would see a flash of a dream, and then be back into counting but had started counting down in 1s or even counting up again. This happened several times.

It felt shorter than 24 minutes laying awake would have, and I feel like I have been asleep. To be honest I wasn't that tired before the nap so I don't feel much different now.

I was extremely tired for this nap. I put on the sleep mask and listened to some brownian noise, and then counted down in 3s from 300. I had to restart my counting several times, and the next thing I knew my alarm was going off.

I set the alarm for 25 minutes this time as I had been taking ages to go to sleep during the day. This was an excellent nap.

I moved my sleep forward by 25 minutes because I couldn't hold on any longer. I am thinking of shifting all of my naps around today - I will give it some consideration this morning.

This was the most refreshing nap yet! I went from feeling like I was going to fall asleep standing up, to just feeling tired. Woohoo.

I fell asleep immediately for my core nap, and once again I didn't really want to get up afterwards. I feel tired.

When I got in from work today I was not particularly tired, but got a bit drowsy about 15 minutes before my nap. I read a little and then settled down to sleep.

Again I didn't sleep, but I came close to it. I tried to empty my mind and my body felt very heavy. 22 minutes went very quickly and when my alarm beeped I took off my mask and felt alert.

This is the first nap that I haven't been able to sleep for. I felt tired this morning, but about half an hour before my nap I suddenly felt very alert and awake.

When I got home at lunch time I laid in my bed for the correct amount of time but couldn't sleep.
