I dreamt that me and Yu Lee were in our house when a whole army of small, armoured creatures got here. We could hear them outside so we ran up stairs, and as we did they burst into the house down stairs.

There were 2 groups of the creatures and they were fighting each other, but we knew that they were going to overrun the whole place and that our only option was to leave, and that we wouldn't be coming back.

Most of the stuff we would have wanted to take with us was downstairs, but we knew we had to give up on that, so we hunted around for a few things. I knew we would need to sleep outside so I looked for blankets. Our fleecy blankets are always downstairs so I thought we could take duvets but it wasn't ideal.

I also looked for a knife. Yu Lee asked what I was looking for and I described a knife to her that I bought in Spain when I was little, and she said "like this?" and held it out. The weird thing was that she had two versions of it: a full size one and a miniature one. I told her to hurry up because we were running out of time.

We were planning to make our escape out of the bedroom window, and onto the extension roof, where we could wait a while and decide what to do next. The house was getting really hot now, and I knew it was because the heating was broken. In my dream the central heating consisted of a couple of large kettles that looked like metal bins, but with immersion elements in the bottom of them. The kettles were boiling dry and steam was everywhere.

I dreamt of being in a dark place, possibly a cave, on an expedition. I was with Yu Lee, and it wasn't very realistic: it had a real computer game feeling to it.

We both had a torch, helmet and rope, and I was at the top of my rope when all of a sudden I dropped my torch and it rolled away. Yu Lee asked if we should quit but I told her not to be so hasty. Then I lost my footing and felt like I was going to fall. I said "Flashlight ...gone. Rope ...lost. Abort!" and we gave up and left.

In another part of my dream (I don't remember if it was earlier or later) Yu Lee had run a bath, but it was a bit too hot for her so she came downstairs while she waited for it to cool down. For some reason I was waiting for her to have her bath so that I could do something.

I told Yu Lee to hurry up and have her bath and she asked if she could finish playing a game on her computer first, and I told her "no".

I woke up to the sound of my neighbours putting up picture hooks on the other side of the party wall.

This was a very vivid dream. I dreamt that there were several of us playing a game where you all draw rectangles on a sheet of gridded paper, filling in sections of the grid with different colours, and then when all of the squares on the grid are filled in you look at it and somehow you've all drawn a picture! It was incredible and I didn't understand it at the time, but that's because it doesn't make any sense at all!

The next thing that happened was that Yu Lee decided she wanted to test out the steam cleaner attachment underneath the cooker. There was a stainless steel drawer under the oven, and when she opened it what looked like a long vacuum cleaner hose with the brush attachment was inside.

When she turned it on, all of the steam started to fill the house. I went around the house opening up all of the external doors (in this dream the layout of the house was totally different: it was detached with patio doors along each of the longer sides and a garden all around). I pointed fans blowing out of the house in one direction, and into the house on the other side, in the hope that it would create a breeze through the house and blow the steam out. On my way round the house I realised we'd had an electric radiator plugged in for god knows how long in a room we don't use very much. I remember thinking that it explained the electricity bill being so big and it being hot all of the time.

It was all a bit weird!

I dreamt about going to stay overnight with Estefanía, one of my (female) Spanish friends. In my dream Yu Lee was not happy about this!

This morning I was dreaming about playing computer games. Me and my brother had a game that we'd played the demo of so many times that we knew every secret, and we'd just bought the full version. The full version didn't have the demo level in and was much more difficult.

Yu Lee asked if she could have a go and she was completely useless at it. I showed her that she could change the camera mode to see if that helped, but I didn't think it would as the other camera mode was useless. Then, all of a sudden, with the camera set to a mode where you couldn't even see what you were doing, she started to do really well and dived off the edge of a platform into a giant '8 ball' that we hadn't seen, which took her to a secret level with lots of cool stuff.

In my dream, I was cheating on Yu Lee with a really fat, ugly girl. I kept telling Yu Lee that I was busy and sneaking off to see her, and promising Yu Lee that I would spend more time with her soon.

This morning I was dreaming about playing a card game with someone. It was a game where you had monsters and spells in your hand, and they had values for attack, defence and had special abilities - a bit like magic the gathering.

The person that was showing us the game said it wasn't that hard and we could pick it up as we went along.

Yu Lee spent ages on her turn because she had quite a few cards and couldn't work out what to do, and I was starting to get impatient. Then on my turn I could only do one thing, but it resulted in me picking up loads of cards, and then I had to choose what to do next.

It took me a few minutes to read through all of the cards, and then I had loads of options and the cards were all really unintuitive, for example I had a creature with really low attack and high defence, and it had some text that described different rules for its attack on the first, second and third turns.

After about 10 minutes, I announced that I wasn't going to play any more, that there were too many options, the cards were too unintuitive and that this was not fun! At that point my alarm went off and I felt frustrated because I didn't get to finish getting my point across!

I had a horrible dream about Yu Lee being diagnosed with lung cancer.

This was the first of two dreams that I remember last night.

Me and Yu Lee were living in some kind of housing complex. The toilets had stopped working and everyone was throwing their waste out into a shared garden area.

I was running really late for work and I went outside to get my bicycle (I haven't cycled for years). There was a nasty smell so Yu Lee opened the gate to let the air circulate and then realised it was other people's toilet waste that they'd been chucking outside and the smell was on the other side of the gate.

Then when we were cycling I realised I'd forgotten my laptop, and Yu Lee said "don't worry about it", but I thought "How can I work without my computer?"
