Last night I was feeling moderately tired when I went to bed, and to be honest I was not sure that I would sleep easily after such a long nap, but I must have fallen asleep within minutes as I have no recollection of laying in bed.

This morning I woke up naturally just after half past four. I was dreaming that I was back in school, and my little brother was in trouble. I went to see him and he told me that he was being expelled for doing something to one of the girls in his class. I got angry at him and hit him in the face for being so stupid.

Today we had our work Christmas lunch, so we went to a pub from 12:00 until 3:00. I had ribs for my main course, and afterwards I was totally stuffed. I also had 2.5 pints of beer which made the last hour of work very productive!

When I got home I was more than ready for my nap, and I passed out within 5 minutes. I was hoping for a long deep sleep, but I knew it was unlikely as alcohol isn't exactly great for sleep quality.

I woke up after 1.5 hours and felt pretty good. About 5 minutes after I woke up Yu Lee came back home from work, so she sat with me in the bedroom for a while. I was feeling super relaxed and it was nice to sit with her for a while. She went off to make herself something to eat and I got out of bed at 6:30, so I was laying there for 45 minutes! I didn't mind though as I normally sleep for that time and I felt nice and relaxed.

Last night I didn't get hungry until late, so I ended up eating a salad at 10:00pm, followed by some bourbon biscuits. I went to bed just after 11:00pm and fell asleep pretty quickly.

Just after 2:00am I woke up naturally, and felt wide awake. At first I tried to go back to sleep, but after about 10 minutes of laying in bed I realised there was no way I was going back to sleep so I got up. I'm not sure what time I'll go back to bed again!

I guess most people would be worried, and would lay in bed for the rest of the night thinking they have some kind of sleep disorder. I am sitting in the study in the dark, with the brightness turned all of the way down on my Mac and the colour settings changed to make the light from the monitor come out orange (using f.lux). I guess I will just see what happens.
