Last night Yu Lee wasn't so tired, so for the first time in ages we had our usual bed time routine where we chat for a while before going to sleep. This always helps me to sleep better, probably because it gives me an opportunity to wind down and stop thinking about stuff, and because I lay in the dark for a while.
One we'd settled down to sleep I fell asleep very quickly, and slept through until about 4:30am when I woke up naturally. I went back to sleep and then got up with my first alarm at 4:45am.

Wow that was a bit of an epic nap! I didn't feel particularly tired this morning, in fact I've actually felt less tired the last few mornings, but at about 11:30am today I came over a little bit sleepy and went to bed, and this was the result!
I fell asleep pretty quickly, probably in about 5 minutes. After that I actually woke up naturally after about an hour, but I still felt a bit tired so I let myself go back to sleep but I could have easily gotten up at that point. After that I woke up at about the 2 hour mark and recorded the end of my sleep, but then I drifted off again and woke up a third time after nearly 3 hours of total sleep.
To be honest, I feel like I've slept a bit too long, but it was a lovely nap and I had a lot of dreams. I just hope that this doesn't mess up my sleeping pattern tonight...

Last night I had the second half of a bottle of wine, and headed off to bed around 11:30pm. After a short while in bed we settled down to sleep, and it took me about 15 minutes to fall asleep.
I woke up at about 1:30am feeling very hot and needing the toilet (this is definitely a side effect of the alcohol!) so I got up and went to the toilet and drunk a bit glass of water, and then I was straight back to bed and asleep again in seconds.
This morning my alarm was still set for 4:45am as usual, but I don't remember it going off. I must have turned it off without properly waking up, as the first thing I remember is drifting in and out around 5:00am. I marked the end of my sleep soon afterwards but actually laid in bed for another 10 minutes and nearly fell asleep again! I feel more tired this morning than I have done for a few days.
