I didn't sleep at all

Last night me and Yu Lee were playing Guild Wars 2, and we were doing a really difficult dungeon. We started it at about 9:00pm and were still playing at 11:30, so as soon as we finished we went straight to bed. It was a really exciting game so it took us a while to wind down afterwards.

I laid in bed for about 20 minutes before I fell asleep...

I woke up naturally at about 3:15am from a dream. I decided to close my eyes to remember the dream, but then I must have fallen back to sleep because the next thing I remember is waking up at 3:40 and not remembering the dream.

In the end I wrote down a sentence saying what had happened and fell back to sleep.

This time I slept through until my alarm went off, and now I feel like I could have easily slept for longer. I think I will enjoy my nap today!

EDIT: It's 10:00am and I'm tired! I can't wait for my nap!

Just before 1:00pm today I felt that it was time for a nap and went to bed. The same thing happened as usual for me: I fell asleep virtually instantly and woke up after half an hour.

This time I ended the sleep and started another one, as I really thought I wouldn't be able to get to sleep. About 5 minutes after I woke up the hoover / hairdryer / circular saw noise started coming through the wall from next door, and this time I had earplugs in but I could still hear it. I decided to play some pink noise (similar to white noise but less harsh) from my tablet to try and drown it out and I think it did a reasonable job...

With the noise playing I fell asleep again quite easily. One thing that I noticed is that while I was falling asleep, I would be thinking about things and letting my mind wander and the noise would phase out and go silent to me. I would notice this and my attention would be drawn back to the noise and I would hear it again.

This didn't stop me sleeping though - it happened about 3 times in the space of 5 minutes and then I fell back to sleep.

I woke up a couple of hours later and dozed a little bit, and then Yu Lee came in to wake me up. I chatted to her for a minute or 2 and then she left the room...

Sleep 5

Instead of just getting up I laid there for a while and I fell asleep again a couple of times, drifting in and out of a light sleep.

Overall I probably slept more than I should have, and I might have problems sleeping tonight. I may have to start setting an alarm for my naps to make sure they don't go beyond 2 hours, but for now I have been enjoying these naps. It's very similar to having a lay in on a weekend, just I am still sleeping less than 7.5 hours a day so it is not wasting so much time!
