Sleep Log

Monday 14 January 2013 12:04 to 14:29

(2:25 hours)

This morning I felt like I could have taken my nap at pretty much any time, but I didn't feel overwhelmingly tired. Just after midday I laid down in my bed with my earplugs in and a sleep mask on and drifted off to sleep in about 5 minutes.

I woke up after just over an hour (at 1:15pm) and logged the end of my sleep. I took off my sleep mask and ear plugs and laid in bed for a few minutes before I got up.

The next thing I knew I woke up again and this time it was 2:30pm. I had fallen back to sleep without realising it and slept for pretty much the same amount of time again.

As I lay there thinking about whether to get up or not I remembered that I'd had a dream about napping! In my dream I woke up and couldn't figure out whether I'd been napping or sleeping for the night, and to make matters worse my watch had the wrong time on it!

I feel like I've been asleep for ages (maybe too long!). My throat is really sore now.

Arsenal Watch

Tags: Zen

I only remember a very small fraction of this dream, and I didn't remember that upon waking, but it came back to me a few minutes afterwards when I was laying in bed.

I'm pretty sure that most of this dream was about Zen. I think we were trying to play a computer game together but one of us was always busy. The only specific part that I remember was the following:

I am in London, at Ai Seng's house. Zen is staying there too and for some reason I had asked Zen if I could borrow a watch. He gave me a red Arsenal watch that was pretty strange. It was a big red plastic rectangular watch, and it had 2 watch faces side by side. The one on the left showed the current time and the one of the right seemed to be stuck on a certain time.

I went for a nap, and when I woke up I wasn't sure if it was the afternoon and I'd just woken from a nap, of if it was the evening and I'd just woken up in the night.

I look at the watch and it says that the time is about 1 o'clock which I think doesn't make sense as I remember going to sleep in the mid afternoon.

I ask Zen "Is it AM or PM?" and he says that it's PM. For some reason I think that this means it has gone past midnight and I tell him that I can't understand how I slept until this late.

Zen takes a look at the watch and tells me that I am looking at the wrong face. He explains that I have been looking at the face on the right which is for keeping track of the score of a football match, and demonstrates that pressing one of the buttons causes one of the hands on that face to advance. As I look down at the watch I realise that the left face says 6 o'clock which makes a lot more sense!
