Eating Out
Me and Yu Lee are at home, and we're both starving but haven't organised anything for dinner. I suggest that we should go out to eat but Yu Lee isn't keen on the idea. I'm not sure how, but somehow Yu Lee gets a small wrap with kebab meat and chips inside, which we eat, but afterwards we are still hungry as it was really tiny.
I say again that we should go out to eat and this time Yu Lee says that it's going to rain really heavily and isn't safe to drive. I manage to convince her and go to put my shoes on.
As I am sitting there, trying to get my feet into my shoes, I start to have real difficulties getting them in and get very stressed. Every time I try to push my feet into them the backs of the shoes get caught under my feet and fold down inside the shoes. I get more and more frustrated and eventually end up throwing my shoes across the hallway.
Yu Lee asks if I'm OK and I explain that I can't get my shoes on, and she manages to calm me down and help me to get them on. It starts to rain outside and Yu Lee convinces me to let her drive.
When we get to the restaurant, we realise that it is also a hotel and has rooms available. It is raining more and more heavily outside, so we decide to book into the hotel just in case we can't get back in the rain.
After paying for our room we order a kebab (it is a Turkish / Mediterranean / Middle-Eastern style restaurant) and sit down to eat it. After we've taken just a few bites out of it we decide to quickly pop up to our room and dump our stuff, and then return to the restaurant.
When we get back our food is gone. The waiter sees us waiting by the bar (where we were eating before) and calls us over to a table and disappears out into the kitchen.
By this point we have decided that we just want to get a takeaway and go back home as the rain is dying off. After waiting for a few minutes the waiter comes to take our order, and I order a beer. He says there is a problem with the beer and that he has to go and do something in the cellar, and then he rushes off to sort it out before we get a chance to tell him that we just wanted a takeaway. We are sure that he assumed we are eating in because he knows that we have booked a room for the night.
While the waiter is gone, me and Yu Lee talk about what we are going to do for the rest of the night. We both wanted to leave, but we agree now that we are there so we might as well make the most of it.
After a long time the waiter comes back with my beer. It is in a small brown bottle and is some kind of craft beer. I take a sip and it is a lovely, cold lager with a refreshing and slightly sweet flavour. We start to make our food order when I wake up.
