Details:

Sleep 1

22:31 to 04:46

(6:15 hours)

I was quite tired last might due to my nap not being very refreshing, so I went to bed a little earlier than usual. In the end it took me about 30 minutes to fall asleep (the last time I looked at the clock it was 11:00pm).

This morning I woke up at 4:45am which was 15 minutes before my alarm. It was 4:50 by the time I dragged myself out of bed. I'm pretty sure I woke up from a dream but unfortunately I don't remember it.

Sleep 2

16:15 to 17:57

(1:42 hours)

Today at work I had Indian food for lunch. One of my workmates buys food off of an Indian lady and he picked some up for me at the same time, so this meant I had my lunch at 2:00pm instead of 11:00am, and that it was a lot heavier than usual. I also learnt how to eat it the Indian way without a knife and fork which was cool.

I didn't really feel so drowsy at work today, and I wonder if this is because I ate my lunch a bit later than usual. In the last hour of the day the tiredness crept up on me and when I got home I was starting to feel sleepy. I went straight to bed and fell asleep in about 10 minutes.

The next thing I remember it was just before 6:00pm and I was drifting in and out of consciousness. I think I initially woke up about 5:50 and dozed for 10 minutes, and then I logged the end of my sleep but laid in bed for another 15 minutes.

This nap was lovely! I really enjoyed having my nap today and the house was lovely and quiet. I also really enjoyed being able to lay in my bed quietly for a while afterwards, and it was nice to sleep off my massive lunch! I think 1:45 is the perfect length of time for my naps.

Sleep 3

23:07 to 23:49

(0:42 hours)

I didn't sleep at all

After writing in my blog post today that one of the key benefits is that I can fall asleep almost instantly, today I went to bed too early and it took me 40 minutes to fall asleep!

I think this was just a case of not understanding how tired I actually was. I did feel a little bit sleepy, but as soon as I got in bed I think I realised that I wasn't ready. I should have really got up or read in bed but for some reason I just laid there.

I think maybe I am overestimating how much sleep I need at the moment, as I might have needed a little bit more in the past month due to the manual work I was doing on my bathroom.

Sleep 4

23:49 to 05:01

(5:11 hours)

After I reset my sleep I did manage to fall asleep pretty quickly.

I think I initially woke up this morning between 4 and 5. I woke up from a dream, and I laid there with my eyes closed trying to remember it. Unfortunately this lead to me falling back to sleep, and the next thing I knew it was 5:00am and my alarm was going off.

I don't think I could have been asleep for long though as I could still remember the dream.

Airport Security

I am at the airport. I have already been through security and have had my rucksack x-rayed, and now I am in a queue to board the plane.

Eventually I get to the front of the queue and the security guard asks me to stand with my legs open and my arms out. He frisks me down and when he gets to my pockets he finds something and stops.

"Can you empty your pockets please sir?" he asks me.

I put my hand in my left pocket and to my surprise I find a pocket knife. I pull it out and hand it to him.

"What's this?" he asks.

"A knife!" I reply.

"Why do you have this? What's it for?"

"It's just a general knife."

"You know I can't just let you carry a knife onto the plane don't you?"

"I've taken it on the plane before and it's never been a problem."

The knife is stainless steel, with a textured handle and about a 3 inch blade. In the dream I am sure that I have taken it on a plane before.

"What happens now?" I ask him.

"You'll have to put it in your hand luggage. If you'd just like to step out of the queue then we can deal with this."

I step out of the queue and feel annoyed as all of the other passengers move past me. I start to argue with the security guard.

"But surely I could just take it out of my hand luggage anyway!"

"I'm sorry sir, but that's the rules. Please put the knife in your hand luggage..."
